What is the Matter with Verizon – $30 Phone Activation Fee!!

Why is Verizon now charging a $30.00 activation fee when a consumer upgrade their phone. it is bad enough that the unlimited data plan no longer exist but that have to add insult to injury be instituting a $30.00 phone activation fee. For heaven sake, the phone cannot work without activating it! This is highway robbery in its most blatant form! When I complaint to the customer service rep., I was told at least I could sell back my old phone to Verizon to recoup the cost or take advantage of the many free workshops that would help me learn to use all the features of my new phone. I would rather read the manual and figure out things myself than be hit with a totally unreasonable $30.00 fee. This is how they are treating long time customers! What a slap in the face!

Defintiely sounds like you are a stnrog candidate for a blackberry. Just to warn you though blackberries require a $29.99 data package and he data pack cant be taken off while the phone is on your acoount it s required. Blackberries are rock solid devices and have outstanding features and can be synced with outlook for calendar and contacts. They have alot of very useful applications as well. But the biggest advantage hands down is push email. Basically you can setup up to 10 emails on your balckberry. RIM (blackberries parent company) has servers that monitor your email accounts and the seocnd you get and email a copy is pushed to your phone. If you respond it send the response right from that email account and adds the tag line Sent from my Verizon Wireless Balckberry This is nice because you dont have to go check your email you have it instantly when it is sent to you. Also this is nice because you can manage most of the major email accounts right from your phone, so if you delete a meassage on your blackberry it will give you the option to also delete it from the server meaning then you dont have to sign into your email account directly to delete it. They are awesome phone with super high satisfaction rates, the only drwback is the data package but it sounds lik you would benefit from the device, I would recommend the tour or the curve, Stay away from the Storm (the touch screen blackberry) physical keyboards are the way to go .
