TigerDirect.com Order Cancellation

I ordered a laptop from TigerDirect on 11/25/11. My order was confirmed and then hours later I received the following email:

“Dear VINCENT,

In regard to your recent order, we would like to thank you for your interest in the ASUS A53ETH91 B950 Notebook. We knew it was a great deal when we posted it but it sold even faster than we anticipated and unfortunately we are unable to fill your order. The item sold so fast that as we were removing it from our website we continued to receive a number of orders that exceeded the available quantity.
We’ve tried to obtain more of this deal but there are no more available, so we are in the process of cancelling your order.
We never charge a credit card until after we ship so no charges have nor will be placed on your credit card for the Asus Notebook. If you used a prepaid payment method such as PayPal or Google, the payment processors will be automatically notified of the order cancellation and they will refund your payment within 24-48 hrs.
If you ordered any additional items with the Notebook you will only be charged for those additional items when they ship and they will ship as usual.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your business”

I find it extremely frustrating because this was meant to be a gift and I could have purchased a very similar item at a very similar price at another retailer. I feel like TigerDirect should have offered a similar laptop for the same price or placed my order on backorder until more units were acquired.

TigerDirect now has my credit card information, Billing/Shipping information, email address and this information will probably be sold or used for marketing purposes.

I cancelled another laptop order after ordering this one from TigerDirect. This one from TD had better specs and was cheaper by at least $10. Unfortunately, by the time I got the cancellation email from TigerDirect, the other laptop was no longer on sale.

If by memory you mean RAM, caucirl.com is a good place to buy more RAM. They have a free system scanner that you can download that will tell you your computer's maximum RAM capacity according to your motherboard, bios, etc., as well as how many RAM slots you have and what is in them. It then shows you compatible upgrades that you can buy from their site. I recently bought a 1 GB card for my laptop. If your computer has Vista or Windows 7, you can use ReadyBoost to use an SD card as extra memory. The way you do this is by right clicking the SD card icon in my computer and going to the ReadyBoost tab and enabling ReadyBoost.
