I have been a T-mobile customer for years. I discovered that T-Mobile now has a prepaid plan with a very good minutes/text/data package–$50 (poor data pkg) and $60 (good data pkg)–including taxes. so I switched to the prepaid plan. And set up an automated payment plan. Then on my statement, I noticed a $5.44 charge from T-Mobile. When I called and asked about it, they said they charge a fee (see above) for the use of the credit/debit card AND electronic check. In other words, YOU CAN’T AVOID PAYING THE A FEE. So my $60 is really $65.44. I asked them WHERE on the T-M site you can find the notification of the fee, and they admitted that there was NOTHING. I have filed a complaint with the FTC, but I’m sure there are others out there who thought they were getting a great deal and are being ripped off by these sneaky fees.
