Samsung has not updated the OS on my Samsung Vibrant even when they promised end of year

No Froyo as promised by year end via official tweets, and a HARDWARE issue with GPS (Which I had to fix myself). Maybe a recall is due to us. Maybe a new 4G model with Gingerbread?

My friend was just in a T-Mobile store and was told the vibrant was their most reliable phone---scary groubal.

It's just the principle. And for those of you saying they didn't promise an update you can look on Galaxy S Support on twitter and see they did they would provide an update by the end of the year. Also, they used it as a selling point that froyo would be out soon for the device. At least their sales people did and they should be responsible for what their sales people said. Either that or they just turned a blind eye just to help their bottom line. Also, although "soon" is a relative term. I would argue that 6 months after the release of a device is not that soon and I think most people would agree. Especially with the pace of technology and you would think that a electronics company would know that!

Samsung YOU SUCK. GIVE US FROYYYYYYYYYYO. You have it on other variants already, the nexus S and the 4g... give it noowwwwwww.

Want the froyo update now! Way too much delay for the US version. At this time, they should've released 2.3 already. Phone is capable of this hardware wise. The ability to update software for improvements is the primary reasom I bought and android.

Tired of the GPS games played by their support people, claiming they gave you the fix and still the same. Have had my vib exchanged 3 times, no gps. Now, it is 2011 and no Android upgrade but want us to buy a new set with identical specifications??? Hopefully a class action starts soon... can't wait to see it happen.

I will not be buying another Samsung phone again unless they start supporting devices they release. At minimum, they need to keep their high-end devices running smooth with software fixes to resolve issues. If you're going to release a highend phone, you should hold yourself accountable for making sure they are kept up-to-date and competitive with other manufacturers devices.

Terrible gps this is the 4th vibrant I've needed to do bad hardware software or connection problems like noone could hear me speak to them but I could hear them plus the failure to release system source coding as promised

I have literally gone through 3 Vibrant's. None of them has a functioning gps. This is so upsetting that you pay so much for a phone and nothing works well. Gps, constant lag issue, etc. I love the screen, but that's all I can say. Its equivalent to an HD2 out of the box. I can't believe Samsung brags about how much of these phones they've sold, but still no updates or gps fix. You would think a company would see that people love the phone and reward them with the gps and update fix.

I admit I love the phone, but hate that I'm not able to experience the full flash content like most high end android phones, then the gps issue is annoying.

This is my last Samsung phone. The non-standard way they implemented the OS is annoying. The lack of functional updates and the constant push-backs are frustrating. Then having a Vibrant Plus with all the features I wish the Vibrant had to begin with makes me feel ripped off.

Complaining aside I do love the S-AMOLED Screen and it is the main reason I purchased the phone, but had no Idea that the broken compass,broken GPS, phone having a bad lag issue and lack of a standard OS implementation would have plagued me.

Thanks to devs and the ROM community I have gotten past all that, but from the manufacturer this phone is a lemon. This phone is flawed and Samsung promised us that they would fix it with an update which JI6 did not do.

P.S. Who still uses RFS (Riser File Systems) in the UNIX/Linux world anymore?!?! Samsung that’s who. Why would anyone want to use slow SD memory for their phones application storage instead of NAND?!?! Samsung that’s who.

#NeverAgain I don't buy it. First off I own this phone. It's mine. Samsung could simply load the update via kies and that would be that. Even loading a "stock" android update since essentially it's a new ROM would be something. I doubt that TMobile would or could pull the plug on that action (unless there is some type of contract between the two) Even then I would be dammed if I would take all of the heat regarding this update (if I were Samsung) It's about reputation and future sales. Currently there are about 4 million versions of this GS phone floating around the U.S. True most folks don't even know about all of this fluff. But if there were a media spotlight put on the matter then this might look significantly different.
As long as I personally see the great work being done by these awesome Dev's at XDA I can wait. But that does not mean that I can't be upset about the entire debacle. I have read no less that 4 supposedly firm dates for this upgrade and none of them panned out. Not to mention that this phone was "Gutted" compared to other countries around the world. And to add insult to injury we are paying more for less. Now ain't that a kick in the nut hugger? The Greatest country in the world and we got bitch slapped!!

I bought the T-mobile Vibrant the first day it came out. The GPS was not functional initially. The OS was laggy and slow. Rep told me that 2.2 would be release in September '09. The official fix for the GPS was released but did not solve the problem. Had to use third party solution that essentially voided my warranty to get any functional use from the GPS.

Post bad reviews of SGS phones on all online retailer websites such as Amazon - collectively we can make Samsung notice its customers and warn others from buying unsupported phones.

When I bought the Vibrant back when it first came out in June I was promised the 2.2 update would be sent within the years end. I am tired of waiting for the OTA and if these stories hold an once of weight Samsung is never again going to get my hard earned money for a product they produce.

Samsung you just lost a future sale. I love my epic but its the last of the Samsung Saga, Never Again.
