We paid £98.00 to experience the rides at Chessington, Two of the main rides were not running, The signs indicating this on entry were obscure no announcement was made over the PA system and the staff selling tickets could also have made customers aware before payment, ours didn’t, also after queuing for 65 minutes for Dragons Fury this also broke down, bearing in mind we had been in the park for over two hours and had only managed one ride this was becoming very frustrating, on top of this the food outlets had minimal staff to cope with the capacity of visitors considering this was Half Term week, after 8 hours in the park we only managed 4 rides, this is unacceptable and poor value for money.

Hi,
On Tuesday 4th september we visited CWOA using our Tesco clubcard points (built up over the last 2 years). We bought 4 tickets for me, my wife, my brother and my brother's wife. We live @ 12 walnuts road oprington. My sister (of 11 denton road, stevenage) bought 4 tickets for herself, her husband and my 2 nephews.
We met up and began the usual task of queing for rides etc. which is expected.
@ 3pm we all wanted to ride DRAGONS FURY. But due to a 'technical problem' it was closed. To prevent us wasting valuable ride time elsewhere, we were not prepared to wait for it to be fixed, plus your employees were not allowing any new people to join the qeue. This made me very angry as we had planned our day to ride at time, using your map to plan our journey through the park. SO it was a spanner in the works. Although by the end of the day the ride was back up and running, we did not manage to get on the ride at all - the reason for this, you will see below.
@ 3.12pm we began queing for the Vampire. If you can imagine, Dragon's fury is aimed at the same kind of 'rider' as Vampire. Now Vampire would have already had a qeue of it's own, but due to Dragon's fury being closed, Vampire would have taken a lot of the people who were unable to go on Dragon's fury (this included us 8). WE WAITED IN A QEUE LASTING 1 HOUR 20 MINS to get on the Vampire. The qeue had no estimate times along the way and I feel the qeue was made longer due to your technical problem on Dragon's fury. I think Vampire's qeue would have been around 40mins long at most.
@ 4.40pm After going on Vampire we decided to go on Dragon's fall. When we got there your employee at the gate advised due to a 'technical problem' it was closed. Dragon's fall was quite a walk away and so we walked back to peeking hieghts. Now we saw water begin to fill the ride at around 4.55pm, but there was no gaurentee that the ride was back up and running. You have no announcement service like trains to say 'THIS IS RIDE IS BACK UP AND RUNNING' etc. It could be just you testing your ride? We were not prepared to walk all the way back and risk being disappointend and turned back again. SO AGAIN all 8 of us were unable to get on this ride.
On speaking to a park employee, she advised the park opening hours were extended to 5.30pm due to the problems the park faced. (30mins)
But I personally do not think that 30mins is enough to compensate for 2 missed rides, a spanner in the works for our planned day and a very long wait @ Vampire (the Vampire qeue at most should have been 40mins, but I think due to Dragon's fury being closed + who knows what else in the park at that same monent?, the qeue had increased in size) I think we had to wait an extra est. 40mins.
Another thing that made us very angry was the fact that one has to pay to park their car on your broken, rockey and bumpy field (a sad excuse for a car park). Its not much of a car park for one. Secondly the system for exiting the park is an absolute joke, as the people who got there earlier in the day have to sit in longer qeues to that of people who came to the park later.
Thirdly - On purchasing a ticket from the Explorer gate exit @ 5.45pm I thought we would have to insert the tickets into some kind of machine to exit. But there was no machine. So one could have simply not paid the £2 and exitied for free.
Also you (CWOA) had the cheek to place 2 employees just before the car park exit asking 'have you bought your car park ticket?' . Only to find one could have exited the entire park without buying the car park ticket. It basically CWOA last chance to get some money off already angered customers.
My view is:
Firstly car parking should be free, considering the money one spends to enter your extortionate park (clubcard points are still like money). Then also because of the extortionate prices one has to pay for things inside the park itself. Im surprised you don't charge for the toilets -(hold on I don't want to give you any money making ideas). You could even charge people for breathing inside the park - (now Im just being stupid)
AND if your are going to charge for car parking, you should make sure you actually have a system in place to make sure everyone pays. For example, if I come to your park tommorow, I now know that I can get in and out of your car park without paying the £2 parking fee. Do you understand?!
Please can you have someone respond to may feeback and complaint. My mobile number is 07913706963.
But if you do reply via email please also include people in my group who you dissappointed too:
