I ordered a Honeybaked Ham – order 23×2 from my local Honeybaked Store at 4959 Mowry Ave Fremont Ca 94538. I picked up my ham on Dec 23rd. When I went into the store to pick up my ham at the store it was not in the refrigerated cases section in the front of the store, the clerk had to go into the back and bring it to me.She gave me the wrapped ham in a Honeybaked Ham plastic bag, and I drove straight home and in 7 minutges was putting the ham into a spare refrigerator in my garage.I noticed at this time that was liquid in the bag,but it appeared water tight so I set it on a shelf inside my refrigerator.When I pulled the ham out of the refrigerator and brought it into the house on Dec 25th, to let sit out so we could serve it at room temperature,which was a few hours later on it was apparent that the glaze which forms a crust like shell on the ham was in the bottom of the bag and dot around the ham, as it is supposed to be. There was a gold colored liquid in the bottom of the bag which I believe was liquified honeybaked shell and crust that had never properly adhered to the ham in the first place. We had 15 people for Christmas Dinner and I was so happy my wife had also cooked a 15 lb turkey, as the ham was nothing special, in flavor or appearance. The ham meat just fell off the bone and of this 8.69 lb ham. I have ordered Honeybaked Hams several times in the past, so I am very familiar with their product. This ham was probably just cooked,possibly to much, and not cured properly. I called the store 510 796 0336 on Dec 28th and sspoke to an employee who would not identify himself, and he told me there were no refunds from the store, that I would have to Contact Corporate Honeybaked Hams. After some research online I found the name and fax number of Ken Caldwell-Vice President of Retail and Franchise Operations.His phone is 508 626 2300 and his fax is 508 844 0961, I could never get through to him, but I faxed a letter of concern, asking for a refund of my $51.14, as I was not satisfied with his ham, with no reponse from a Dec 28th fax, and a follow up fax on Jan 14th. I realize that any company employee or product can have a bad day, but I expect a return confirmation of my fax and a full refund.
