I rented a car from Enterprise at the airport in Honolulu, HI from February 12-February 15. I chose to use my own insurance with USAA. I inspected the car when I got it, but didn’t see any major dents in the car. The car had just been washed & was still wet…which I think may have made the dent in the roof difficult to see. Upon return, I’d barely gotten out of the car when the Enterprise employee stated, “Did you get that dent in the roof by putting kayaks on top?”
He was not even close enough to the car to be able to see the dent.
I neither put anything on top of the car, nor parked under any trees during my rental. I did not put the dent in the roof. A dent that I could only see by looking very closely at a certain angle.
However, they sent me a bill for the scam they probably try to pull on every tourist who rents this car & uses their own insurance. They charge:
Damages $1,149.74
Tax $20.43
Loss of use $333.51 (a compact KIA Forte for 6.750 days)
