We received a mailer from Ashley Stockwell, a Director of Virgin Media. It advertised a cheaper broadband service to the one we had, and more importantly – “you wont be stuck without the internet at any time during the switch, we’ll even say goodbye to BT for you”
On 8 December 2010 we called Virgin and were told “this could all be sorted in about 10 days” we would have to rent a line from Virgin Media as well as the broadband.
It is now the 5th January 2011 and we have a Virgin Media line but still no broadband, we are being told that the equipment will arrive AFTER the broadband is live, therefore there would definitely be a break in service but “if we were lucky” it would only be for a couple of days!
We were also promised a letter confirming our agreement with them, to date we have nothing.
I am attempting to cancel today – been holding for 20 minutes – now we have to cancel everything and contact BT ourselves to reinstate the line – awesome!
