Some year ago I ccepted a credt card from Aval, Banco Uno, who are now known as CITI bank. In the contract I signed with Aval, it said that no annuity will be charged if the card was active. Once CITI took over, I was assured the contract was the same and nothing will change.
However, year after year, I receive my statement with the annuity fee, and when I call to ask for it to be removed since the card has been active, they tell me that I have to pay the minimum and then they will reverse the charge. However, in the minimum payment, the annuity is reflected, and after reason with the clerk on the phone, they accept to reverse it right away since I have a “good use of your card and a good credit record”.
I signed a contract, which they do not respect and I’m sure they do this “trick” in order to see who doesn’t notice it and pays. In my opinion that’s called stealing.
