I was just mortified! I talked to two young ladies [ahem] who were not only rude, but completely incapable of doing their jobs. They just repeated themselves and never listened to anything I had to say. They told me that the phone my husband has was ‘required’ to have a data plan, but that he was not charged before for a data plan because it was their ‘mistake’. So, all of the reps that we have talked to before that stated we didn’t need a plan or want one (so we never purchased one), failed to mention this new requirement and that we will be charged after the phone is hung up. Months of not having a data plan – they realize they’re missing out on pinching our pockets – so they just decide to charge us. Hmmm. This is a bit unethical.
It got to the point where the girl told me that I was rude and that she should charge me for all of the months that I didn’t have a plan – I couldn’t believe my ears!
I am actually paying my bills to be treated this way. She hung up on me. I was not swearing, insulting or even raising my voice. All I wanted was for he to agree with me that what was happening to me should not happen and to mak things better. All she wanted to do was talk. Customer service is about listening and doing the best you can do – not telling them they’re doing the best they can do, but actually doing it!
I finally talked with someone who knows how to do their job and he refunded the data plan charge, the usage fees and got us on a data plan that is $10 less. I still can’t get around a plan, but that is for another day.
